Bethalto-East Alton Center-
- Our Bethalto Center has been open since 1998 and provides care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.
- Our hours are from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Our Bethalto Program is fully licensed as Day Care Centers by the Illinois Dept. of Children and Family Services and hold a Silver Circle of Quality in the Illinois ExceleRate program.
- We also pride ourselves that all of our center classrooms are equipped with live viewing cameras to help parents feel secure to be able to log in at any time.
The Bethalto center provides:
- Full and Part-week care for ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age
- Pre-K program staffed by certified Early Childhood teachers.
- Full background check on all employees

Curriculum Director
Rebekah Boyd
Rebekah is the Director of Bethalto Step By Step. Rebekah started off as a Substitute, then a Pre-K Teacher, and is now the Director. She has been in the Director role for the last 10 years. Rebekah graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education.
She has one child who attends currently and is looking forward to bringing her newborn in the Spring!
Program Administrator
Kim Pierce
Kim is the Program Administrator of Bethalto Step By Step. She has been with Step By Step for over 20 years. She has worked toward a Bachelor's in Business through the University of Phoenix. Kim brought her kids to Step By Step and is now enjoying bringing her grandchildren to the center as well.
Latchkey Director
Tonya Newby
Tonya is our Latchkey Director for both our Bethalto and Roxana School District programs. Tonya has been with Step By Step since 2019 and has worked with several age groups. Most recently she was the lead school-age teacher at our Alton Center.
Tonya enjoys providing a safe, educational, fun, and friendly environment for children on school days, holidays, snow days, and school breaks!

Our Curriculum
Fees for enrollment are based on a child's age and the number of days they are enrolled. Please e-mail or call us for more information on payment plans and the sibling discount.
All employees must be at least 19 years of age. All employees are required to pass a complete background check (with fingerprinting) and physical per DCFS regulations.
Each of our center based classrooms have secure live-viewing cameras. Unfortunately cameras are not available at our Latchkey Programs
