Certified Prek Teacher- Bethalto
This teaching position is 6 hours per day for one group of 20 children aged 3 to 5 years old (with a full time assistant teacher).
We have had an established ISBE Pre-K program embedded within a licensed childcare center for over 15 years. This Certified Teaching position begins August 1st and our Pre-K calendar year usually runs through mid-June. The Teacher is responsible for assessment (Early Learning Scale) and instruction (Creative Curriculum format). Hours for the position will be approx. 7:30 to 2:30 with a one hour lunch break.
Salary will vary with qualifications and experience; however, starting salary is $22-24 per hour for an 11 month teaching year (Aug to June). Benefits include paid holidays, paid sick time and two personal days after completion of a 90 day probationary period with additional vacation after the first year of employment.
**Please note: Employees receive half price childcare for all children enrolled at any Step By Step location.

Site Coordinator- Brighton Latchkey
Looking to hire a full time Latchkey (School Age) Teacher/Site Coordinator.
This is a full-time or part time position based on the employee's availability with benefits available to staff over 30 hours per week (sick, holiday, vacation, healthcare, etc).
Hours vary between 6:00 am-6:00pm based on the needs of the program/employee availability and will be discussed during the interview. Preferred schedule would be a split shift 6:00 am-9:00am and 2:00 pm-6:00pm.
Additional hours are available, and some are required, on school holidays, early dismissals, and breaks based on the Southwestern School District schedule. There may be additional hours available at the Brighton Center when available, if interested.
Requirements: 21 years old and over. 30 semester hours of college credit with 12 related to school age - AND- 750 hours of experience with school age (School age verified experience may include: Camp counselor, Licensed Center, Church-related, etc.)

Teacher Assistant- Bethalto
We are looking for a Teacher Assistant in our Pre-K classroom at our Bethalto program. This position is full time at 40 hours per week and the employee is eligible for benefits after a short probationary period.
A set schedule is determined upon hire and may be adjusted based on the needs of the program at times. Expected starting hours will be 9:00am-6:00 pm. Hours can vary on occasion as needed from 6:30am-6:00 pm Monday-Friday.
Salary Range: Based on position, education, and credential level. In addition scholarships are available to continue your education to grow within our company.
Requirements:
- At least 19 years old.
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Preferred, not required, 30 Credit hours of college credit with 6 credit hours related to Early Childhood
- Completed physical upon hire with TB Test and Appropriate Shot Record
- Receive and maintain a clear background check through DCFS
Duties: Some, but not all duties include:
- Be flexible and able to float from room to room
- Assist in preparing a quality classroom that ensures the safety of children and staff at all times
- Assure the classroom is in compliance with regulatory agencies at all times
- Communicate and maintain positive working relationships with parents and staff daily
- Interact with children within the program at their level
- Follow and complete Cleaning Checklists
- Assure children are changed regularly and assist with potty training
- Complete and follow through with lesson plans and child assessments daily
- Assist Lead Teacher in classroom to assure classroom responsibilities are completed daily
