Step One- Register with Gateways
All employees of a licensed childcare facility must register as an employee on the Gateway Registry website. https://registry.ilgateways.com/Please complete the registration. Assure that you save your username and password as you will regularly access this website. (You are welcome to use a generic username and password and put a sticky note in your personnel file.)

DCFS Regulation
Step Four- You must read the DCFS regulations that are needed for your position. Here is the link to these regulations. You will be signing that you have reviewed each document. They are always available to review by going to this website or at each location.

Mandated Reporter
Step Five- Mandated Reporter- The purpose of this online course is to help all Illinois Mandated Reporters understand their critical role in protecting children by recognizing and reporting child abuse. Everyone who suspects child abuse or neglect should call the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Child Abuse Hotline to make a report, but Mandated Reporters are required by law to do so.

Day Two

Day Three

Step Two: Next you will complete the Food Handler's Training. Please go to https://www.efoodcard.com/ and create a login. Payment will be made AFTER completion of the course. You will pay the $7.99 using a credit card (subject to change based on the provider).
This training will be reimbursed by your Program Director. If you do not have a credit/debit card, please let the Director know so they can make arrangements for it to be paid. Complete the training, take the final exam, and print the certificate.

This online instruction will discuss the signs, symptoms, causes, triggers, prevention and long-term effects of Shake Syndrome and traumatic brain injury. Successful completion of this training meets DCFS pre-service requirements for the Home Care Provider License application. Licensed providers will receive hours of training for renewal of the license.

First Aid/CPR-
This blended learning course includes an online portion and an instructor-led classroom skills session. The online portion must be completed before attending the in-class portion. Most learners complete the online portion in approximately two and a half hours. Please be prepared to provide your instructor with proof that you completed the online portion using one of the following methods: • Print your online course completion record available at the end of from the course and show it to your instructor – it will read “Proceed to Skill Session”.
After creating a log in using your email address and a password, click “Launch Course” to begin. Assure that you keep this log in information so you are able to access when it is time to renew. Feel free to use something generic and put on a sticky note in your personnel file. Please notify your Director upon completion so your skills training can be scheduled.
